WEDNESDAY 4 / 17 JULY 2019: On the feastday of the Holy Royal Martyrs, which this year marks 101 years since their glorious martyrdom, His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe headed the Divine Services in the lower church of the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Diocese in London, which is dedicated to the Royal Martyrs.
Concelebrating with His Grace were the Chancellor of Great Britain and Ireland, Archpriest Paul Elliott, together with clergy of the Cathedral: Archpriest Vitaly Serapinas and Archpriest Yaroslav Gudymenko, together with Deacon Andrei Borisas. A special happiness was the concelebration at the service of Archpriest Joseph Skinner of the Diocese of Sourozh (Moscow Patriarchate), who brought the greetings of His Grace Bishop Matthew.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a Cross-procession took place around the Cathedral, including a reading of the Gospel before the red-granite Memorial Cross to the Royal Martyrs that was erected last year on the centenary of the martyrdom.
The services were followed by a festive luncheon provided by the Cathedral Sisterhood.
