SATURDAY 18 JUNE / 1 JULY 2023: On the principal feastday of St John the Wonderworker of Shanghai and San Francisco, the solemn commemoration of the long-serving Ruling Hierarch of our Diocese was kept at the Diocesan Cathedral in London, and in parishes across the Diocese.
St John was Ruling Bishop in Western Europe from 1950-1963, during which time his spiritual wisdom, pious prayer and Godly headship deeply shaped the ethos and life of the Diocese.
At the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God and Holy Royal Martyrs in London, His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, the first Bishop to head the unified Diocese including both Western Europe and the British Isles since St John himself, headed the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy in honour of the much-beloved saint, singing the Magnification before the portion of his incorrupt relics that rest in the London Cathedral.

СУББОТА 18 ИЮНЯ / 1 ИЮЛЯ 2023 г.: В праздник святителя Шанхайского и Сан-Францисского Иоанна чудотворца, торжественная память многолетнего Правящего архиерея нашей епархии была совершена в епархиальном кафедральном соборе г. Лондона и в приходах всей епархии.
Святитель Иоанн был Правящим архиереем в Западной Европе с 1950 по 1963 год, и в это время его духовная мудрость, благочестивая молитва и богоугодное главенство епархии глубоко сформировали ее дух и жизнь.
В кафедральном соборе Рождества Богородицы и Святых Царственных Мучеников в Лондоне возглавил Преосвященнейший епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней — первый со времени самого святителя Иоанна, возглавивший объединенную епархию, включавшую Западную Европу и Британские острова — всенощное бдение и Божественная литургия в честь всеми любимого святителя, перед частицей его нетленных мощей, покоящихся в Лондонском соборе.
