6 / 19 ИЮЛ. 2020 г., ЖЕНЕВА: В неделю 6-ю по Пятидесятнице, когда Святая Церковь празднует день памяти преп. Сисоя Великого, Преосвященнейший Епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней прибыл в кафедральный Кресто-Воздвиженский собор Женевы, где возглавил Всенощное Бдение и Божественную Литургию в воскресный день. Его Преосвященству сослужил Преосвященнейший Александр, викарный епископ Вевейский, протоиереи Павел Цветков и Емилиан Починок, архидиакон Дометиан (Редко) и диакон Владимир Свистун.

Обращаясь к верующим со словом воскресной проповеди Преосвященнейший Владыка Ириней сказал: «Когда мы отмечали славную и праведную память Святых Царственных Мучеников, чьи жизни и страдания так тесно связаны с нашим существованием в рассеянии, мы услышали, как Господь говорил не всему миру (хотя, конечно, Он дарит Свое слово всей Вселенной!), – но в этот драгоценный момент он говорил непосредственно с каждым из нас. И вот что Он сказал: Сие заповедаю вам, да любите друг друга (Ин. 15:17)».  Его Преосвященство призвал каждого проникнуться этою драгоценной заповедью, а также всегда памятовать, что в период искушений и страданий необходимо свой взор обращать ко Господу, призывая Святого Духа-Утешителя, который является нашим упованием и помощником во времена всяческих нестроений. 

После окончания Литургии в канун очередной годовщины упокоения приснопоминаемому Епископу Вевейскому Амвросию (Кантакузену) была провозглашена Вечная Память.

В 13:30 того же дня Преосвященнейший Епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней как настоятель Кресто-Воздвиженского прихода провел Ежегодное приходское собрание, согласно очередной и внеочередной повестке дня. Были рассмотрены насущные вопросы в жизни женевского собора, избран новый староста (Александр Ромаш), члены Церковно-приходского Совета, ревизионной комиссии, а также иные должностные лица. Подытоживая результаты более чем пятичасового заседания, Епископ Ириней поблагодарил всех членов прихода за плодотворную работу, прения и дискуссии, целью которых являлась оптимизация приходской деятельности в современности.

Его Преосвященство в понедельник 20 июля отбыл в Лондон.

On the 6th Sunday after Pentecost, when the Holy Church celebrates the feast day of St Sisoes the Great, His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe arrived at the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Cross in Geneva, where he led the All-Night Vigil and Sunday Divine Liturgy. Vladyka Irenei was co-served by His Grace Alexander, Vicar Bishop of Vevey, Archpriests Pavel Tsvetkov and Emilian Pochinok, Archdeacon Dometian (Redko) and Deacon Vladimir Svistun.

Calling to mind the memory of the Holy Royal Martyrs, whose feast was kept just two days before, His Grace Bishop Irenei addressed the faithful in the words of his Sunday homily, ‘When we celebrated the glorious and righteous memory of the Holy Royal Martyrs, whose lives and sufferings are so closely connected with our existence in the Diaspora, we heard the Lord as if He were speaking not generally, to the whole world —although, of course , He gives His word to the entire universe! — but in this precious moment He spoke directly with each of us. And this is what He said: This I command you, that you love one another (John 15.17).’ His Eminence called upon all to be imbued with this precious commandment, and always to remember that in times of temptation and suffering, man must turn his gaze to the Lord, invoking the Holy Spirit-Comforter, who is our hope and helper in times of all kinds of turmoil.

At the end of the Liturgy, calling to the attention of all that the present Sunday marked the eve of the anniversary of the repose of the ever-remembered Bishop Ambrose of Vevey, ‘Memory Eternal’ was proclaimed by all the clergy and faithful.

At 1.30 p.m.on the same day His Grace Bishop Irenei, as Rector of the Cathedral Parish of the Exaltation of the Cross, chaired the Annual Parish Meeting, as well as an Extraordinary Meeting called for the same afternoon. Issues at the heart of the life of the Geneva Cathedral were considered, and elections were held for regular parish roles, including a new Starosta (Alexander Romash), as well as Treasurer and members of the Parish Council and Auditing Commission. Summing up the results of the more than five-hours spent in the two meetings, Bishop Irenei thanked all the members of the Parish for their fruitful work, discourse and discussion, the purpose of which was to fruitfully organise the various activities of the Parish for our contemporary times.

His Grace departed for London on Monday 20 July.
