21 OCTOBER / 3 NOVEMBER 2023: With the blessing of Bishop Irenei, we convey here the special appeal for aid to the Church Abroad’s Ecclesiastical Mission in the Holy Land, which is responsible for our monasteries and the care of the holy places there, and which is in need on account of the Israel-Gaza conflict currently take place around them.
The following special appeal has been circulated by the head of the Ecclesiastical Mission, Archimandrite Roman (links to donate immediately on-line are found at the end of the appeal):
“Peace has been shattered in the Holy Land, with three days of air-raid sirens in Jerusalem. Thank God nothing landed in the Holy City nor near our convents. Since then, it has been relatively calm but very strained at our three monasteries, which are in Palestinian areas. There has been unrest outside the gates of the Mount of Olives Convent. Tear gas wafts over the walls and into the monastery grounds, even into the church. Meanwhile, our olive harvest has begun, but the holy sites are empty of pilgrims, probably for another year. Divine services continue daily, and we pray that our Merciful Lord will put an end to this struggle so that the peoples of this land could live in peace.
“We are in urgent need for augmented support from the beloved flock of our Church worldwide. Please help our monastics as they pray for peace and the salvation of Christian souls.

«Мир на Святой Земле был нарушен трехдневными сиренами воздушной тревоги в Иерусалиме. Слава Богу, ни в Святом граде, ни возле наших монастырей ничего не приземлилось. С тех пор, в трех наших монастырях, которые находятся в палестинских районах, было относительно спокойно, но очень напряженно. У ворот Спасо-Вознесенского монастыря на Елеоне произошли волнения. Слезоточивый газ проносится через стены, на территорию монастыря и даже в церковь. Между тем, у нас начался сбор оливок, но святые места пусты от помощников из паломников, вероятно, еще на год. 21 OCTOBRE / 3 NOVEMBRE 2023 : Avec la bénédiction de Mgr Irénée, nous transmettons ici l’appel spécial à l’aide à la mission ecclésiastique de l’Église à l’étranger en Terre Sainte, qui est responsable de nos monastères et du soin des lieux saints qui s’y trouvent, et qui est dans le besoin en raison du conflit entre Israël et Gaza qui se déroule actuellement autour d’eux.
L’appel spécial suivant a été diffusé par le chef de la Mission Ecclésiastique, l’Archimandrite Roman (les liens pour faire un don immédiatement en ligne se trouvent à la fin de l’appel) :
« La paix a été brisée en Terre Sainte, avec trois jours de sirènes d’alerte aérienne à Jérusalem. Grace à Dieu, rien n’a atterri dans la Ville Sainte ni à proximité de nos monastères. Depuis, c’est relativement calme mais très tendu dans nos trois monastères, qui se trouvent dans les zones palestiniennes. Il y a eu des troubles devant les portes du couvent du Mont des Oliviers. Des gaz lacrymogènes soufflent sur les murs et dans l’enceinte du monastère, même dans l’église. Entre-temps, notre récolte d’olives a commencé, mais les lieux saints sont vide de pèlerins, probablement pour encore un an. Les offices divins continuent quotidiennement, et nous prions pour que notre Seigneur Miséricordieux mette fin à cette lutte pour que les peuples de cette terre puissent vivre en paix.
