6 / 19 SEPTEMBER 2023: The Youth Group of the London Cathedral has been dedicated to the honour of the Holy Myrrh-bearing woman and Equal of the Apostles, St Mary Magdalen.
Writing on their web site, the youth group noted: ‘We are thrilled to announce a significant development within the youth group of the Cathedral. With the blessing of our ruling bishop, Vladyka Irenei, the youth group has now been bestowed with its own patron saint – Mary Magdalene.’
A newly-commissioned icon of St Mary was received for the occasion, and resides in the lower church of the Cathedral.
The youth group continues to grow in its activities. Recently, driven by a strong sense of community service, it continued its initiative to care for graves at Brompton Cemetery. Over the recent weekend the youth meticulously cleaned the graves of numerous former hierarchs and clergy that had served in the London parish over its long history, including Archpriest Nicholas and Archbishop Nikodem.

На своем веб-сайте молодежная группа отметила: «Мы рады сообщить о значительном развитии в жизни молодежной группы собора. По благословению нашего Правящего архиерея Владыки Иринея молодежная группа получила свою святую покровительницу – Марию Магдалину».
По этому случаю была получена новая икона Святой Марии, которая находится в нижнем храме собора.
Молодёжная группа продолжает расширять свою деятельность. Недавно, руководствуясь сильным чувством общественной работы, группа продолжила свою инициативу по уходу за могилами на Бромптонском кладбище. В минувшие выходные молодежь тщательно очистила могилы многочисленных бывших иерархов и священнослужителей, служивших в лондонском приходе за его многовековую историю, в том числе протоиерея Николая и архиепископа Никодима.
