11.03.2020. ЛИОН. Преосвященнейший Ириней, епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский совершил архипастырский визит в приход Св. Иоанна Русского в Лионе, Франция. Во вторник 10 марта вечером Владыка возглавил Таинство Соборования. Его Преосвященству сослужил настоятель прихода протоиерей Квентин де Кастельбажак, духовенство местных румынских храмов: священники Михнеа Поп (фр. Mihnea Pop) и Силуан Элоа (фр. Siluan Eloi), а также диакон Владимир Свистун, прибывший из кафедрального собора Женевы. Таинство Святаго Елея, невзирая на рабочий день, собрало много верующих.

«Сегодня мы собрались вместе, чтобы получить прощение наших грехов и исцелить болезни наших душ и телес» – с такими словами обратился Архиерей к верующим, объясняя смысл Таинства Соборования, упоминаемого еще в послании св. апостола Иакова. Уповая на слова ученика Христова о том, что «молитва веры исцелит болящаго, и восставит его Господь» (Иаков. 5,15), Владыка призвал всех открыть свое сердце для радости, которую Спаситель желает влить в каждую душу через прощение грехов и исцеляющую благодать Святаго Духа.

В среду утром 11 марта Епископ Ириней возглавил Литургию Преждеосвященных Даров, которая была отслужена Архипастырем священническим чином. Невзирая на скромность богослужения, подобающего великопостному времени, она стала знаменательной для лионской общины, поскольку это первая в современной истории литургия свят. Григория Двоеслова, возглавленная Правящим Архиереем. Этот факт был особо отмечен в благодарственном слове, которое произнес настоятель прихода протоиерей Квентин де Кастельбажак. После окончания богослужения Владыка обратился к верующим со словом проповеди и укрепления, где призвал каждого в уповании на Спасителя не бояться современных невзгод, в частности, связанных с распространением известной инфекции, но более убояться греха – главного духовного недуга, который тлетворно влияет как на душу, так и на тело.

По случаю архиерейского визита в этот день состоялась постная трапеза, где прихожане продолжили отрытый и душеполезный диалог с Архипастырем. После обеда 11 марта Его Преосвященство отбыл в Лондон, откуда продолжит посещать очередные приходы епархии и совершать Таинства Соборования на протяжении всей Великой Четыредесятницы.

11.03.2020 LYON. Son Eminence Monseigneur Irénée, Evêque de Londres et d’Europe Occidentale, a effectué une visite archi-pastorale de la paroisse de St Jean le Russe à Lyon en France. Le mardi 10 mars au soir, Monseigneur a présidé la célébration du Mystère des Saintes Huiles. Concélébraient avec Monseigneur le Recteur de la paroisse, l’archiprêtre Quentin de Castelbajac et les prêtres des deux paroisses roumaines à Lyon, les Révérends Pères Minhea Pop et Silvan Eloi, ainsi que le diacre Vladimir Svystun, venu de la cathédrale de l’Exaltation de la Croix à Genève. Même s’il s’agissait d’un jour de travail, un grande de fidèles s’est rassemblé pour le sacrement des Saintes huiles.

Notre Évêque s’est adressé aux fidèles avec les mots suivants : « Aujourd’hui nous nous sommes rassemblés pour recevoir le pardon de nos péchés et guérir nos maladies spirituelles et corporelles », expliquant ensuite le sens du mystère des saintes Huiles, dont il est fait mention dans l’épître de saint Jacques. Mettant notre confiance dans les mots de l’Apôtre comme quoi « la prière de la foi sauvera le malade, et le Seigneur le relèvera (Jacques, 5, 15), Monseigneur à appeler tous les participants à ouvrir leur cœur à la joie que le Sauveur veut répandre dans l’âme de chacun à travers le pardon des péchés et la grâce porteuse de guérison de l’Esprit Saint.

Mercredi 11 mars au matin, L’Évêque Irénée a présidé la liturgie des Présanctifiés, qu’il a célébrée suivant le rite du prêtre. Malgré la simplicité de cette célébration, qui correspond bien au temps du Grand Carême, elle a constitué un événement remarquable pour la communauté lyonnaise, dont c’était, dans son histoire actuelle, la première liturgie de saint Grégoire le Dialogue présidée par son Évêque diocésain. Ce fait a été spécialement souligné dans les paroles de gratitude qu’a prononcées le Recteur de la paroisse, l’archiprêtre Quentin de Castelbajac. A la fin de l’office, Monseigneur s’est adressé aux fidèles dans son homélie pour affermir chacun dans l’espérance en notre Sauveur, les appelant à ne pas craindre les tribulations, et en particulier celles liées à la diffusion de l’épidémie actuelle dont on parle tant, mais plutôt de redouter le péché, cette infection spirituelle fondamentale, qui corrompt et l’âme et le corps.

A l’occasion de cette visite archi-pastorale était organisé ce jour-là un repas commun de Carême, durant lequel les fidèles présents ont pu avoir avec leur Évêque un dialogue général bénéfique à l’âme. Après le déjeuner, Monseigneur est rentré à Londres, d’où il continuera à partir visiter à tour de rôle les paroisses du diocèse pour la célébration des Saintes Huiles durant toute la durée du Grand Carême.

His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe made an archpastoral visit to the parish of St John the Russian in Lyon, France where, on the evening of Tuesday 10th March, he presided over the celebration of General Unction — the first of such services to be served in the present lenten season. Co-serving His Grace were the rector of the parish, the Very Revd Archpriest Quentin de Castelbajac, together with the priests of the two Romanian parishes in Lyon: the Reverend Fathers Minhea Pop and Silvan Eloi, as well as Deacon Vladimir Svystun from the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Cross in Geneva. Despite the service being held on the evening of a workday, a large collection of faithful gathered for the sacrament of holy anointing.
 
Our Bishop addressed the faithful with the following words: ‘Today we have gathered to receive the forgiveness of our sins and to heal our spiritual and bodily illnesses’, then explaining the meaning of the mystery of the anointing, which is mentioned in its nascent form in the epistle of Saint James. Putting our trust in the words of the Apostle that the prayer of the faithful will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up (James, 5:15), His Grace called upon all those gathered to open their hearts to the joy that the Saviour wishes to kindle in each person’s soul through the forgiveness of sins and the healing grace of the Holy Spirit.
 
The following morning, 11th March, Bishop Irenei presided over the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, which His Grace celebrated quietly according to the augmented priestly rite. Despite the simplicity of this celebration, which corresponds well to the time of Great Lent, it constituted a remarkable event for the Lyonnais community, of which it was, in its current history, the first Liturgy of Saint Gregory the Dialogist presided over by its Diocesan Bishop — a fact especially underlined in the words of gratitude pronounced by the rector of the parish, the Archpriest Quentin de Castelbajac. At the end of the service, Vladyka addressed the faithful in his homily to strengthen everyone in hope in our Saviour, calling on them not to fear tribulations, and in particular those linked to the spread of the current epidemic; but rather to fear sin, this fundamental spiritual infection, which corrupts both the soul and the body.
 
On the occasion of this archpastoral visit, a common lenten meal was organised, during which the faithful present were able to have a fruitful dialogue beneficial to their soul. After the meal, Monseigneur returned to London, from where he will continue to undertake travels to visit the parishes of the Diocese for the celebration of Unction for the duration of Great Lent.
