St Parish of St Elisabeth in Wallasey, near Liverpool in northern England, celebrated the Great Feast of Theophany amongst a church filled with faithful who had prepared themselves to receive the Lord’s Body and Blood on the day of His sacred baptism in the Jordan.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the Parish Rector and Chancellor of the Diocese, Archpriest Paul Elliott, led the faithful to the banks of the River Mersey, where the waters there were blessed as those in the temple had been earlier. We offer readers a small selection of photos that capture the holiness and joy of the festal occasion.
Blessing the temple and faithful. The waters are blessed in the temple. Blessing the waters of the Mersey. Blessing the waters of the Mersey.
