SUNDAY 1 / 14 MAY 2023: On the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe made an Archpastoral visit to the Resurrection Parish in Meudon, France, to celebrate the Divine Services of its Altar Feast. Co-serving Vladyka Irenei were the Rector of the parish, Archpriest Michael Goudkoff, and the parish Deacon, Fr Alexander Boldyreff, together with Archpriest Valentin Palyiukh, visiting from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Arriving on Friday evening, the Bishop met with the Parish Council to congratulate them with the Paschal joy and converse for several hours about the life of the parish, its growth and its activities. On Saturday morning, Bishop Irenei visited St Genevieve des Bois cemetery in Paris: the largest cemetery of the Russian Orthodox emigration in the world, and prayed there for the souls of the pious reposed and visited the shrine for the reposed of Gallipoli. After then holding personal meetings with several clergy and faithful in the afternoon, His Grace served the festal All-Night Vigil in the Meudon temple, followed by a special evening meeting with youth and new French-speaking converts and catechumens to Holy Orthodoxy, who were able to converse at length with the archpastor about the spiritual life and faith of the Church.
On Sunday morning Vladyka was greeted at the doors of the church and proceeded to head the Divine Liturgy of the Altar Feast. At the Little Entrance, the Diocesan Bishop elevated the parish’s faithful Deacon, Alexander Boldyreff, to the rank of Protodeacon, in honour of his ten years of diaconal service.
Following the Liturgy and a homily on the spiritual significance of Christ’s meeting with the Samaritan woman at the well, Vladyka greeted the parish Rector and newly-elevated Protodeacon, together with all the faithful, and congratulated them on the celebration of their parish feast. In turn, Archpriest Michael greeted the arch pastor and thanked Vladyka Irenei for his presence and spiritual guidance of the parish and the diocese. A special gramota was then presented by Vladyka to Xenia Borisovna Pervyshina who, currently in her 91st year, was a choir member for 50 years and is a gifted iconographer to has painted several of the parish’s icons.
The parish then decamped to a large hall provided by the city of Meudon for the festal trapeza, at which toasts were offered for the Bishop, the Rector, the new Protodeacon, and other members of the community. Vladyka remained for several hours with the faithful, before departing Paris for England.

ВОСКРЕСЕНЬЕ 1 / 14 МАЯ 2023 г.: В Неделю о Самарянке Преосвященнейший епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней совершил архипастырский визит в Воскресенский приход Медона, Франция, для совершения богослужений по случаю престольного праздника. Владыке Иринею сослужили клирики прихода: настоятель протоиерей Михаил Гудков и диакон Александр Болдырев вместе с приехавшим от Украинской Православной Церкви протоиереем Валентином Палюх.
Прибыв вечером в пятницу, Владыка встретился с приходским советом, чтобы поздравить его членов с пасхальной радостью и несколько часов побеседовать о жизни прихода, его росте и деятельности. В субботу утром епископ Ириней посетил кладбище Сан-Женевьев-де-Буа в Париже, самое большое кладбище русской православной эмиграции в мире, и помолился там о душах благочестиво усопших, а также посетил Галлиполийский участок. После личных встреч с несколькими священнослужителями и верующими во второй половине дня, Преосвященный Владыка отслужил праздничное Всенощное бдение в Медонском храме, а затем возглавил особую вечернюю встречу с молодежью и новообращенными франкофонами и оглашенными в Святое Православие, которые имели возможность долго беседовать с архипастырем о вере и духовной жизни Церкви.
В воскресенье утром владыка был встречен у дверей храма и возглавил Божественную литургию по случаю престольного праздника. На Малом входе управляющий епархией возвел диакона Александра Болдырева в сан протодиакона в честь его десятилетнего верного служения Церкви.
После литургии и проповеди о духовном значении встречи Христа с самарянкой владыка приветствовал настоятеля прихода и новопоставленного протодиакона вместе со всеми верующими и поздравил их с приходским праздником. В свою очередь протоиерей Михаил поблагодарил Архипастыря за его присутствие и духовное руководство приходом и епархией. Затем особую грамоту Владыка вручил Ксении Борисовне Первышиной, которая в настоящее время в возрасте 91 года, более 50 лет пребывает певчей в приходском хоре и является одаренным иконописцем, написавшим для храма несколько икон.
Затем духовенство и прихожане переместились в большой зал, предоставленный городскими властями Медона для праздничной трапезы, на которой были произнесены тосты за епископа, настоятеля, нового протодиакона и других членов общины. Перед отъездом из Парижа в Англию Владыка Ириней пребывал в общении с верующими несколько часов.

DIMANCHE 1 / 14 MAI 2023 : Le dimanche de la Samaritaine, Son Excellence l’évêque Irénée de Londres et d’Europe occidentale a effectué une visite archipastorale à la paroisse de la Résurrection à Meudon, France, pour célébrer les services divins de la fête d’autel. Vladyka Irénée était accompagné du recteur de la paroisse, l’archiprêtre Michael Goudkoff, et du diacre de la paroisse, le père Alexander Boldyreff, ainsi que de l’archiprêtre Valentin Palyiukh, en visite de l’Église orthodoxe ukrainienne.
Arrivé le vendredi soir, l’évêque a rencontré le conseil paroissial pour les féliciter avec la joie pascale et s’entretenir pendant plusieurs heures de la vie de la paroisse, de sa croissance et de ses activités. Samedi matin, Mgr Irénée a visité le cimetière Sainte-Geneviève des Bois à Paris : le plus grand cimetière de l’émigration orthodoxe russe au monde, et y a prié pour les âmes des pieux reposés et a visité le sanctuaire des reposés de Gallipoli. Après avoir ensuite tenu des rencontres personnelles avec plusieurs membres du clergé et fidèles dans l’après-midi, Son Excellence a célébré les vigiles festives dans l’église de Meudon, suivie d’une rencontre spéciale en soirée avec les jeunes et les nouveaux convertis et catéchumènes francophones à la sainte orthodoxie, qui étaient capable de s’entretenir longuement avec l’archipasteur de la vie spirituelle et de la foi de l’Église.
Le dimanche matin, Vladyka a été accueillie aux portes de l’église et a dirigé la Divine Liturgie de la Fête de l’Autel. À la petite entrée, l’évêque diocésain a élevé le fidèle diacre de la paroisse, Alexandre Boldyreff, au rang de protodiacre, en l’honneur de ses dix ans de service diaconal.
Après la liturgie et une homélie sur la signification spirituelle de la rencontre du Christ avec la Samaritaine au puits, Vladyka a salué le recteur de la paroisse et le protodiacre nouvellement élevé, ainsi que tous les fidèles, et les a félicités pour la célébration de leur paroisse. À son tour, l’archiprêtre Michael a salué l’archipasteur et a remercié Vladyka Irénée pour sa présence et son accompagnement spirituel de la paroisse et du diocèse. Un gramota spécial a ensuite été présenté par Vladyka à Xenia Borisovna Pervyshina qui, actuellement dans sa 91e année, a été membre de la chorale pendant 50 ans et est une iconographe douée pour avoir peint plusieurs des icônes de la paroisse.
