Grâce à Dieu, cette année 2021 les paroissiens de l’église Sainte Barbara à Vevey ont eu la possibilité de renouer avec les solennités de la Semaine Sainte conjointement avec le clergé (qui l’année précédente, hélas, s’était trouvé seul lors des offices…). Malgré les restrictions et mesures encore en vigueur, les célébrations se sont déroulées dans une atmosphère recueillie et une paisible ferveur joyeuse.
Après la fête de l’Entrée de Notre Seigneur à Jérusalem, les paroissiens se sont retrouvés lors du Grand Jeudi, d’abord pour la Divine Liturgie de l’institution de l’Eucharistie, puis le soir pour les matines du Grand Vendredi et la lectures des Douze Evangiles, lus alternativement en slavon et en français.
Le Vendredi Saint, après la lecture des Heures Royales, les fidèles se sont réunis pour les vêpres afin d’accompagner le Christ au Tombeau, et le soir les lamentations funèbres ont été chantées lors des matines.
Pour des raisons de transport ou de santé, de nombreux fidèles ont préféré venir à la Liturgie déjà festive du Samedi Saint au matin, ce qui permit à d’avantage de personnes de participer à la nuit pascale proprement dite. A l’issue de cette Liturgie où l’église s’était déjà parée de lumineuse blancheur, le pain et le vin ont été bénis en signe d’avancée vers la rupture du jeûne. Ce fut aussi l’occasion d’une première bénédiction de victuailles pascales.
Malgré une pluie assez soutenue, nombreux furent les paroissiens qui célébrèrent la Lumineuse Résurrection du Christ durant cette Sainte Nuit qui se prolongea jusqu’au lever du soleil sur l’église de Vevey.
Dans l’après-midi, après plusieurs autres bénédictions de paskha et koulitchi, furent célébrées les vêpres dans la Lumière radieuse de la Fête des fêtes.
En vérité Il est ressuscité !

Благодаря Господу, в текущем 2021 году прихожане храма Св. Влкм. Варвары в Веве получили возможность вновь приобщиться вместе с духовенством к торжествам Страстной седмицы (которые годом ранее, к сожалению, в соответствии справительственными законами против пандемии, служились «за закрытыми дверьми»). Несмотря на все еще действующие ограничительные меры, торжества прошли в общей молитвенной атмосфере и мирно-радостном рвении.
После праздника Входа Господня в Иерусалим прихожане собирались в Чистый Четверг, сначала на Божественную литургию в память установления Таинства Евхаристии, затем вечером на Утреню Великой Пятницы с чтениями ДвенадцатиСтрастных Евангелий, которые поочередно провозглашались на церковнославянском и французском языках. В Страстную Пятницу, после Царских Часов, верующие собрались на вечерню, чтобы сопровождать Христа ко гробу; а вечером во время утрени пели Чин Погребения Плащаницы.
По соображениям транспорта или здоровья многие прихожане предпочли прийти на Божественную литургию утром в Великую Субботу, что позволило еще большему количеству людей принять участие в праздничном богослужении на Пасху Господню в саму пасхальную ночь. В конце субботней литургии, когда храм уже был украшен сияющей белизной Воскресения, в знак окончания поста были благословлены хлеб и вино. Это было также поводом для первого освящения на приходе пасхальных приношений.
Несмотря на довольно сильный проливной дождь, многие прихожане праздновали Светлое Воскресение Христово в эту Святую ночь, которая длилась над вевейским храмом до восхода солнца.
Днем, после еще нескольких освящений пасок и куличей, в лучезарном свете Праздника Праздников была совершена Пасхальная вечерня.
Воистину Воскресе Христос!

Thanks be to God, in this year 2021 the parishioners of the Church of Saint Barbara the Great-Martyr in Vevey had the opportunity to reconnect with the solemnities of Holy Week jointly with the clergy (who the previous year, alas, had been mandated by Government pandemic regulations to serve the Divine Services ‘behind closed doors’). Despite the restriction measures still in force, the celebrations took place in a communal atmosphere and peaceful fervour of joy.
After the feast of the Entry of Our Lord into Jerusalem, the parishioners gathered on Great and Holy Thursday, first for the Divine Liturgy of the institution of the Eucharist, then in the evening for the Matins of Great Friday, with its readings of the Twelve Passion Gospels, which were proclaimed alternately in Church Slavonic and French.
On Great and Holy Friday, following the Royal Hours, the faithful gathered for Vespers, to accompany Christ to the tomb; and in the evening the funeral lamentations were sung during Matins.
For reasons of transport or health, many faithful elected to come to the Divine Liturgy of Holy Saturday morning — already a festive service of the Lord’s Pascha — which allowed yet more people to participate in the Paschal night itself. At the end of this Saturday Liturgy, with the temple already adorned in the luminous white of the Resurrection, bread and wine were blessed as a sign of progress towards the breaking of the fast. It was also the occasion of a first blessing of paschal foods in the parish.
Despite the fairly heavy rain, many parishioners celebrated the Bright Resurrection of Christ during this Holy Night which lasted until the sun rose over the church of Vevey.
In the afternoon, after several more blessings of paskha and kulitchi, Paschal Vespers was celebrated in the radiant light of the Feast of the Feasts.
Truly He is risen!
