On 29th April / 12th May 2018, the St Alexander Nevsky Parish in Norwich celebrated the Hierarchical Liturgy for the first time in its history. In honour of the first anniversary of the ordination of its priest, Fr Spasimir Ivanov, His Grace Bishop Irenei made his second Archpastoral visitation to the parish (a year ago it welcomed the myrrh-streaming icon of the Theotokos ‘of Hawaii’), and for the first time celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the small but lovingly-furnished temple in the centre of Norwich City. Concelebrating with His Grace were the parish priest, Fr Spasimir, together with Archpriest Andrew Phillips and Priest Ioann Iana.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the parishioners and guests travelled to the new home of Fr Spasimir and his family, were a generous luncheon was served and housewarming gifts offered from the parishioners to their rector, as well as from Fr Andrew and parishioners from further afield.
