The Church of Christ the Saviour, the Great Martyr Catherine, and St. Seraphim of Sarov posted an announcement on its website that it had come under the Omophor of His Grace, Bishop Irenei of Richmond and Western Europe on 24th January 2019. The parish had been part of the Archdiocese of Russian Orthodox Churches of Western Europe. Its parish priest, Fr Denis Baykov was received at the same time.
The church originally belonged to the Russian Orthodox Church, being consecrated in 1913. It moved into the Ecumenical Patriarchate with the Archdiocese of Russian Orthodox Churches in 1931.
This is now the second Italian parish of the former Exarchate to be received into ROCOR.
