В первую седмице Великого Поста двери женевского Кресто-Воздвиженского собора были открыты ежедневно. В уставных великопостных богослужениях принимали участие многие православные верующие Женевы и окрестностей, в особенности вечерами на чтении канона прп. Андрея Критского. Многие приобщились святых Христовых Тайн на Литургиях Преждеосвященных Даров, а также в Федоровскую субботу.

В неделю Торжества Православия храм не смог вместить всех желающих. Сотни верующих приступили к Таинству Исповеди и Причастия. Божественную Литургию в этот день возглавил протоиерей Павел Цветков в сослужении протоиерея Емилиана Починок. Обращаясь к верующим со словом проповеди о. Павел рассказал о происхождении праздника Торжества Православия и значении иконопочитания в духовной жизни каждого христианина. Проповедник, поздравив всех со светлым праздником, обратил внимание на необходимость каждого в великопостные дни более тщательно заботиться о своей душе.

После богослужения духовенством собора был отслужен праздничный молебен. Затем состоялся урок в воскресной школе для самых маленьких прихожан.

During the first week of Great Lent, the doors of the Geneva Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross were opened daily. Many Orthodox believers in Geneva and its environs took part in the daily Lenten Divine Services, especially in the evenings during the reading of the Great Canon of St Andrew of Crete. Many partook of the Holy Mysteries of Christ at the Liturgies of the Presanctified Gifts, as well as on St Theodore Saturday.

For the Sunday celebration of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, the cathedral temple could not accommodate everyone. Hundreds of believers partook of the Sacraments of Confession and Communion. The Divine Liturgy was led by Archpriest Pavel Tsvetkov, accompanied by Archpriest Emilian Pochinok. Addressing the faithful in his sermon, Fr Paul spoke about the origin of the celebration of the Triumph of Orthodoxy and the importance of icon veneration in the spiritual life of every Christian. The preacher, congratulating everyone with the radiant holiday, drew attention to the need for everyone in these Lenten days to take ardent care for their soul.

After the service, the clergy of the cathedral served a festive prayer service, and there followed a lesson in the Sunday school for the youngest parishioners.

Au cours de la première semaine du Grand Carême, les portes de la cathédrale d’exaltation de la Sainte Croix de Genève ont été ouvertes tous les jours. De nombreux croyants à Genève et ses environs ont participé aux offices divins du Carême, en particulier le soir lors de la lecture du chanoine de Saint André. Beaucoup ont participé aux saints mystères du Christ lors des liturgies des dons présanctifiés, ainsi que le samedi.

Pour le Triomphe de l’orthodoxie, le temple ne pouvait pas accueillir tout le monde. Des centaines de croyants ont participé dans le sacrement de la confession et de la communion. Ce jour-là, la Divine Liturgie était servi par l’archiprêtre Pavel Tsvetkov, accompagné de l’archiprêtre Emilian Pochinok. Dans son sermon, le père Paul a parlé de l’origine de la célébration du triomphe de l’orthodoxie et de l’importance du culte des icônes dans la vie spirituelle de chaque chrétien. Le prédicateur, félicitant tout le monde pour cette fête brillante, a attiré l’attention sur la nécessité pour tout le monde, pendant le Carême, de prendre davantage soin de son âme.

Après l’office, le clergé de la cathédrale a servi un service de prière festif. Puis une leçon a eu lieu à l’école du dimanche pour les plus jeunes paroissiens.
