THURSDAY 27 JANUARY / 9 FEBRUARY 2023: On the feastday of the great Father of the Church, St John the Golden-mouthed, His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe served the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Monastery of St Paisius in Safford, Arizona, where Vladyka Irenei is currently visiting with the blessing of the Ruling Bishop of the region, His Eminence Archbishop of Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America.
Having served the Divine Liturgy in honour of the saint in the Monastery’s glorious katholikon, itself dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos, Bishop Irenei spent the majority of the day in conferences with the sisters. Chief amongst the points of discussion between Bishop Irenei and the Abbess of the Monastery, Mother Michaila, was the development of monastic life in Western Europe, where plans are currently progressing for the development of a new diocesan monastery in France.
