Over the weekend, the Youth Group of the Cathedral travelled to St Leonards-on-Sea to visit with the brethren of the church of The All Merciful Saviour and Father Aleksandr, while also assisting with chores relating to the parish. During the course of the visit, various tasks were conducted including the decoration of icons and bricklaying for the ongoing construction of the parish’s trapeza.
Notably, the youth were blessed to be accompanied by Father Theodore, hieromonk and Dean of Students at Jordanville Seminary, who offered spiritual advice and counsel alongside Father Aleksandr throughout the visit.
In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, the brethren and Youth Group gathered together after Vespers and dinner on Saturday, singing carols and jovial songs.
These and many other activities took place during the short span of the trip, and the youth left St Leonards-on-Sea having been enriched spiritually, and encouraged by the love, joy, and warm welcome of Father Aleksandr and the entire parish.
