LUXEMBOURG, PAROISSE DE SS PIERRE ET PAUL: Le samedi 18 janvier 2020, veille de la Sainte Théophanie, les Vêpres suivies de la Sainte Liturgie de St Jean ont été célébrées par le recteur le da paroisse, Père Georges Machtalère. La Grande Bénédiction des Eaux a suivi la Sainte Liturgie – une bénédiction qui s’est déroulée dans le jardin de l’Eglise. Plus tard, les Grandes Complies, Litie et les Matines ont rassemblé beaucoup de fidèles .
Le Dimanche de la Théophanie, a débuté la Sainte Liturgie de Saint Basile, avec la présence de très nombreux fidèles, l’Eglise étant trop modeste pour accueillir tout le monde ! Par Grâce de Dieu, le beau temps a permis aux gens de se rassembler à l’extérieur.
De nombreux communiants ont participé a la Sainte Eucharistie, avec la joie de la présence de nombreux enfants.
La grande Bénédiction des Eaux a suivi avec une distribution d’eau bénite, et aspersion des murs de l’Eglise et des nombreuses personnes présentes !
Après une brève pause, une panikhida a été célébrée en mémoire de l’Archiprêtre Serge POUKH constructeur avec sa Matushka de l’Eglise décédé le 19.01.2016.
La Panikhida a été précédée d’un sermon du recteur P. Georges qui a remercié Matushka Emilie et feu P. Serge, la Grâce Divine s’étant tant manifestée pour permettre à la communauté Orthodoxe Russe de Luxembourg de se rassembler dans l’Eglise pour la célébration des Offices et des Saints Sacrements.
Des agapes festives ont réuni les fidèles.

LUXEMBOURG, PARISH OF ST PETER AND ST PAUL: On Saturday 5th / 18th January 2020, the eve of Holy Theophany, Vespers followed by the Holy Liturgy of St John were celebrated in the historic parish in Luxembourg by Priest George Machtalère, the Parish Rector. The Great Blessing of Waters followed the Holy Liturgy, taking place in the garden of the Church. In the evening, the Vigil of Great Compline and Matins with a blessing of bread drew together large numbers of the faithful.
On the Sunday of Theophany, the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil was served in a temple filled beyond capacity with throngs of faithful, the Church being too small to accommodate the crowds. By God’s grace, fair weather permitted the overflow of people to gather and pray outside. Many communicants participated in the Holy Eucharist, with the especial happiness of the presence of very many children.
The great Blessing of Waters followed, with a distribution of holy water and sprinkling of the walls of the Church and the many faithful gathered in prayer for the Feast.
After a brief interlude at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a panikhida was served for the sacred memory of the founder of the parish, Archpriest Serge Poukh, who departed unto the Lord on this feastday in 2016. His Matushka survives him and was present at the festal services this year.
Father George delivered a sermon to the faithful, in which he thanked Matushka Emilie for her labours, together with her late-husband, and gave thanks to God for the gift of His Divine Grace which has come in such abundance upon the Russian Orthodox community of Luxembourg, who now gather so frequently and freely to celebrate the Divine Offices and receive the Holy Mysteries.
Following the Divine Services, a festive meal brought together the faithful in the joy of the Feast.
