21 OCTOBER / 3 NOVEMBER 2024: On the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, on which the Church keeps the sacred memory of the Venerable Hilarion the Great, the Ruling Bishop of the Diocese, His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, welcomed the myrrh-streaming ‘Hawaiian’-iveron icon into the Geneva Cathedral for the first time. The holy icon was greeted at the doors of the historic Cathedral by its clergy, and placed in a shrine specially-prepared by the Sisterhood, for the veneration of the Faithful. Vladyka Irenei was then greeted by the clergy, and headed the Divine Liturgy, co-served by the Cathedral clergy, Archpriests Pavel Tsvetkoff and Emilian Pochinok, Archdeacon Dometian (Redko) and Deacon Antoine Barros, as well as Archpriest Antony and Abbot Herman, visiting from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
After the Great Entrance of the Divine Liturgy, Deacon Antoine was ordained as a Priest, to the joyful cries of ‘Axios!’ by the clergy and faithful. The newly-ordained Fr Antoine then took his place with the other Priests around the Holy Altar.
Enormous crowds of faithful were present in the Cathedral, to receive the Divine Mysteries of Christ, pray before the miraculous icon of His Mother, and experience the grace of the ordination. The number of faithful could not be contained even by the large cathedral, and filled the territory outside the temple with worshippers who waited for hours to venerate the icon.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Bishop Irenei delivered a short word on the spiritual significance of the day, and the traditional Gramata of Exhortation to the newly-ordinated priest was proclaimed by the Deacon. ‘Memory Eternal!’ was also intoned for the ever-memorable Metropolitan Hilarion, on the occasion of his namesday.
Following these prayers, Vladyka Irenei warmly welcomed His Eminence Archbishop Michael to the Cathedral, and the two Hierarchs together led a moleben before the Hawaiian icon, imploring the Mother of God to look lovingly and compassionately upon the flock of her Son in the trying times of this world.
Following the prayers, faithful remained for many hours, venerating the icon and being anointed with the precious myrrh that flowed from it during the services.

21 ОКТЯБРЯ / 3 НОЯБРЯ 2024 г.: В 19-ю Неделю по Пятидесятнице, когда Св. Церковь отмечает память преп. Илариона Великого, Правящий Архирей, Преосвященный епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней, приветствовал мироточивую «Гавайскую»-Иверскую икону в Женевском Кресто-Воздвиженском соборе. Святую икону встретило у входа в исторический храм его духовенство, и она была помещена в специально подготовленный для поклонения верующих ковчег. Затем Владыку Иринея приветствовали клирики, и Его Преосвященство возглавил Божественную Литургию, в сослужении с протоиереями Павлом Цветковым и Эмилианом Починком, архидиаконом Дометианом (Редко) и диаконом Антонием Барросом; и Протоиереем Антонием и игуменом Германом из Украинской Православной Церкви.
После Великого Входа на Божественной Литургии диакон Антоний был рукоположен в сан священника, при радостных возгласах «Аксиос!» со стороны духовенства и верующих. Новопоставленный иерей Антоний занял свое место с другими священниками вокруг Святого Престола.
В соборе присутствовали огромные толпы верующих, чтобы принять Святые Тайны Христовы, помолиться перед чудотворной иконой Божьей Матери и ощутить благодать рукоположения.
По окончании Литургии епископ Ириней произнес краткое слово о духовном значении дня, и архидиакон провозгласил традиционную грамоту наставления новопоставленному священнику. Была пропета «Вечная память» в честь приснопоминаемого Митрополита Илариона по случаю его именин.
После богослужения Владыка Ириней тепло приветствовал Его Высокопреосвященство Архиепископа Михаила в соборе, и оба архиерея вместе совершили молебен перед Гавайской иконой, умоляя Пресвятую Богородицу милостиво и с любовью призреть на паству ее Сына в тяжкие времена этого неспокойного мира.
После молитв верующие оставались на многие часы, поклоняясь иконе и получая помазание драгоценным миром, которое истекало из нее во время богослужений.

21 OCTOBRE / 3 NOVEMBRE 2024 : Le 19ème dimanche après la Pentecôte, au cours duquel l’Église célèbre la mémoire sacrée du Vénérable Hilarion le Grand, l’Évêque dirigeant du diocèse, Son Excellence l’Évêque Irénée de Londres et de l’Europe occidentale, a accueilli l’icône myroblite de l’Iveron ‘Hawaïenne’ dans la Cathédrale de Genève. La sainte icône a été accueillie aux portes de la Cathédrale historique par son clergé et placée dans une shrine spécialement préparée, pour la vénération des fidèles. Vladyka Irénée a ensuite été accueilli par le clergé et a présidé la Divine Liturgie, co-servie par les archiprêtres Pavel Tsvetkoff et Emilien Pochinok, l’archidiacre Dometien (Redko) et le diacre Antoine Barros, et l’archiprêtre Antoine et l’abbé Germain, de l’église orthodoxe ukrainienne.
Après la Grande Entrée de la Divine Liturgie, le diacre Antoine a été ordonné prêtre, au cri joyeux d’« Axios ! » par le clergé et les fidèles. Le nouveau père Antoine a ensuite pris sa place avec les autres prêtres dans le Saint Autel.
D’énormes foules de fidèles étaient présentes dans la cathédrale pour recevoir les Mystères Divins du Christ, prier devant l’icône miraculeuse de Sa Mère et faire l’expérience de la grâce de l’ordination.
À la fin de la Liturgie, l’Évêque Irénée a prononcé une brève homélie sur la signification spirituelle de ce jour, et la traditionnelle Gramata d’Exhortation au prêtre nouveau-ordonné a été proclamée par le archidiacre. « Mémoire Éternelle ! » a également été chanté pour le Métropolite Hilarion, à l’occasion de son jour de fête.
Après ces prières, Vladyka Irénée a chaleureusement accueilli Son Éminence l’Archevêque Michel à la Cathédrale, et les deux Hiérarques ont ensemble dirigé un moleben devant l’icône hawaïenne, implorant la Mère de Dieu de regarder avec amour et compassion le troupeau de Son Fils dans les temps difficiles de ce monde.
Après les prières, les fidèles sont restés pendant de nombreuses heures, vénérant l’icône et étant oint de la précieuse myrrhe qui en coulait pendant les services.
