TUESDAY, 6 / 19 NOVEMBER 2024: Having spent four days in the region of Greater London and southern England, Tuesday evening marked the final Divine Service before the wonderworking ‘Hawaiian’ icon of the Theotokos in London, as part of its current visitation to the Diocese.

The evening moleben and akafist were headed by His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, co-served by the clergy of the Cathedral: Archpriest Vitaly Serapinas and Yaroslav Hudymenko, Hieromonk Theodore and Deacons Andrei Borisas and Sergei Baranov; together a multitude of Priests and Deacons visiting from the Antiochian, Bulgarian, Serbian and other dioceses.

The occasion was especially poignant, as the faithful of Great Britain — to whom this icon has come to hold a special place of reverence — prepared to bid it farewell. Many tears of thanksgiving were shed before the sacred image, as the clergy and faithful expressed their love for the Mother of God and her Son.

On Wednesday the icon departs for the island of Ireland, where it will conclude its visitation to the Diocese.

ВТОРНИК, 6 / 19 НОЯБРЯ 2024 г.: После четырехдневного пребывания святыни в регионе Большого Лондона и южной Англии, вечером во вторник состоялось заключительное богослужение перед чудотворной Гавайской иконой Божией Матери в Лондоне, завершив ее нынешнее посещение епархии.

Вечерний молебен с акафистом возглавил Преосвященный епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней в сослужении духовенства кафедрального собора: протоиереев Виталия Серапинаса и Ярослава Гудыменко, иеромонаха Феодора и диаконов Андрея Борисаса и Сергия Баранова, а также множества священников и диаконов из Антиохийской, Болгарской, Сербской и других епархий.

Это событие стало особенно трогательным, так как верующие Великобритании, для которых эта икона занимает особое место в почитании, готовились с ней расстаться. Перед святым образом пролилось множество благодарственных слез, когда духовенство и верующие выражали свою любовь к Богородице и ее Сыну.

В среду икона отправляется на остров Ирландия, где завершит свое пребывание в епархии.
