With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, on 4th May 2025 the faithful of the Holy Trinity Parish in Bern, Switzerland, and the Mission Parish of St Theodosy of the Kiev-Caves in Lucerne, Switzerland, undertook a one-day pilgrimage to one of the nation's most renowned monastic houses: the Abbey of Einsiedeln. The journey was organised by the charitable foundation of St Andrew of Berne under the spiritual guidance of the Rector of the Bern parish, Priest Vladimir Svystun.
Pilgrims had the opportunity to become acquainted with the history of the monastery, founded by a renowned local Orthodox saint, the holy Hieromartyr Meinrad, in the year AD 828, and whose relics to this day repose there. In the crypt of the ancient church, pilgrims were given the chance to pray before the relics of St Meinrad and of St Benedict of Nursia. For the pilgrims’ veneration, one of the monastery’s most precious relics — a fragment of the True Cross — was also brought out. Before these holy objects a moleben with an akathist to the Life-Giving Tree was served. Thereafter, in the upper church, hymns of praise were sung to the Mother of God.
While in Einsiedeln, the pilgrims also visited the 'Golgotha' panorama museum, where over an area of more than 2,000 square metres are depicted Golgotha, the Temple Mount, the city of Jerusalem and its surroundings on the day of the Lord’s Passion.
In the afternoon, on the shores of Lake Lucerne, the pilgrims visited the 'Senar' villa-museum, which served as the summer residence of the famed composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, who spent time here resting and composing in the 1930s. A fascinating account of the life and labours of this most ecclesiastical of our native composers of the 20th century left no one unmoved. His prayer-books, ecclesiastical volumes, icons and paintings from temple interiors of that time remain living witnesses of Sergei Vasilievich’s love for and reverence towards holy Orthodoxy, which inspired his creative work. At the conclusion of the tour, a litya was served in the garden near the villa, and 'Memory Eternal' was chanted for the great Church musician.
По благословению епископа Лондонского и Западно-Европейского Иринея 4 мая 2025 года прихожане Свято-Троицкого прихода в Берне и Свято-Феодосиевскогомиссионеского прихода в Люцерне, Швейцариясовершили однодневное паломничество с одну из самых известных обителей Швейцарии – аббатство Айнзидельн. Поездка была организована силами благотворительного фонда Андрея Бернского под духовным руководством настоятеля бернского прихода иерея Владимира Свистуна.
Паломники имели возможность ознакомиться с историей обители, основанной святым преподобномученикомМайнрадом в 828 году, мощи которого покоятся здесь. Паломникам для молитвы в крипте древнего храма перед мощами св. Майнрада и Венедикта Нурсийского, была вынесена одна из драгоценнейших реликвий обители – частица Креста Господня. Перед святынями был отслуженмолебен с акафистом Животворящему Древу. Затем в верхнем храме было совершено славление Божией Матери. В Айнзидельне паломники посетили музей-панораму «Голгофа», где на площади более 2000 квадратных метров изображены Лобное Место, Храмовая Гора, город Иерусалим и окрестности в день Крестной Жертвы Господней.
Во второй половине дня на берегу озера Четырех Кантонов паломники посетили музей-виллу «Сенар», которая была летней резиденцией известного композитора Сергея Рахманинова, отдыхавшего и творившего здесь в 1930-е годы. Занимательный рассказ о жизни и трудах этого наиболее церковного отечественного композитора ХХ века не оставил равнодушным ни одного человека. Молитвенники, церковные книги, иконы и картины храмовых комплексов того времени, являются живим свидетельством любви и брежного отношения СергеяВасильевича ко святому Православию, вдохновлявшего его на творческие достижения. По завершении экскурсии в саду около виллы была совершена лития и пропета «Вечная память» великому музыканту.
