SUNDAY 27 OCTOBER / 9 NOVEMBER 2025: On the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost, the Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Rome, Italy, received its first Archpastoral Visitation. Founded a year and a half ago, this day marked the first occasion that His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe was able to visit the Italian capital and pray with the faithful of the new community there — which has obtained its own premises and has been steadily growing since its foundation.
The occasion was all the more significant to the Roman faithful, as Bishop Irenei brought with him from Florence the wonderworking Kursk-root icon of the Mother of God, and with this most sacred image blessed the church building and its Altar. Together with their archpastor, the faithful lifted up their solemn prayers to the Theotokos, who ever guards and protects us in this life.
Following the evening services, Vladyka Irenei greeting Archpriest Vitali Kozari, Rector of the parish in Rome, and congratulated the whole community on this momentous occasion, assuring them of his pastoral love and encouraging them in the continuation of their new labours for God in this ancient city.
ВОСКРЕСЕНЬЕ, 27 ОКТЯБРЯ / 9 НОЯБРЯ 2025 г.: В 22-е воскресенье по Пятидесятнице храм святых апостолов Петра и Павла в Риме, Италия, был удостоен своего первого архипастырского посещения. Основанный полтора года назад, этот день стал первой возможностью для Его Преосвященства епископа Лондонского и Западно-Европейского Иринея посетить итальянскую столицу и помолиться с верными нового прихода, который обрел собственное помещение и неуклонно возрастает с момента своего основания.
Для римских верующих событие имело особое значение, поскольку Владыка Ириней привез из Флоренции чудотворную Курско-коренную икону Божией Матери и этим величайшим святыней благословил храм и его Престол. Вместе со своим архипастырем верующие вознесли усердные молитвы Пресвятой Богородице, непрестанно хранящей и защищающей нас в этой жизни.
По завершении вечернего богослужения Владыка Ириней приветствовал настоятеля римского прихода, протоиерея Виталия Козаря, и сердечно поздравил всю общину с этим знаменательным событием, уверив ее в своей архипастырской любви и призвав к продолжению новых трудов во славу Божию в этом древнем граде.
