SUNDAY 6 / 19 OCTOBER 2025: In accordance with the directives of the Holy Synod of Bishops and the Ruling Bishop, the Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Luxembourg solemnly celebrated the 100th anniversary of the repose of Saint Jonah of Hankou and Manchuria, the Wonderworker.
After the Divine Liturgy, all the faithful gathered for a moleben to the Holy Hierarch Jonah, offering warm prayers for his intercession and help. With special love, the children of the parish’s Sunday School took part in the prayer, adorning the service with their pure and joyful singing.
In his homily after the Liturgy, Archpriest Ioann Grigoriță spoke about the self-sacrifice and love of Saint Jonah, about the miracles he performed, and emphasised that the saint’s life is an example of humility and service to one’s neighbour. Father Ioann pointed out the significance of this feast for the whole community and urged all the faithful to keep Saint Jonah — their speedy helper — in their prayers.
After the moleben, all the parishioners were invited by the parish’s Orthodox youth group to the refectory, where they watched together a historical documentary film about the miraculous Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, spiritually preparing to welcome to the parish in the coming days this great relic of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
6 / 19 ОКТЯБРЯ 2025 г.: Во исполнение указаний Святейшего Архиерейского Синода и Правящего архиерея нашего, приход во имя святых апостолов Петра и Павла в Люксембурге особо отметил 100 лет со дня преставления святителя Ионы Ханькоускаго, Маньчжурского чудотворца.
После Божественной литургии все верующие собрались на молебен святителю Ионе, вознося теплые молитвы о его заступничестве и помощи. В молитве с особой любовью приняли участие дети воскресной школы, которые украсили богослужение своими чистыми и радостными песнопениями.
В своем слове после литургии протоиерей Иоанн Григорицэ рассказал о жертвенности и любви святителя Ионы, о чудесах, совершенных им, и подчеркнул, что жизнь святого является примером смирения и служения ближним. Отец Иоанн отметил важность этого праздника для всей общины и призвал всех верующих иметь в своих молитвах скорого помощника — святителя Иону.
После молебна все прихожане были приглашены в трапезную молодёжной православной группой прихода, где вместе посмотрели историко-документальный фильм о чудотворной иконе Божией Матери «Курско-Коренная», готовясь душевно встретить в ближайшие дни в приходе эту великую святыню Русской Зарубежной Церкви.
DIMANCHE 6 / 19 OCTOBRE 2025 : Conformément aux directives du Saint-Synode des évêques et de notre évêque dirigeant, la paroisse des saints apôtres Pierre et Paul à Luxembourg a solennellement commémoré le 100ᵉ anniversaire du repos de saint Jonas de Hankou et de Mandchourie, le thaumaturge.
Après la Divine Liturgie, tous les fidèles se sont réunis pour un office de supplication (moleben) en l’honneur de saint Jonas, élevant de ferventes prières pour son intercession et son aide. Avec un amour particulier, les enfants de l’école du dimanche ont participé à la prière, embellissant la célébration par leurs chants purs et joyeux.
Dans son allocution après la Liturgie, l’archipretre Ioann Grigoriță a parlé du sacrifice et de l’amour de saint Jonas, des miracles qu’il a accomplis, et a souligné que la vie du saint est un exemple d’humilité et de service envers le prochain. Le père Ioann a rappelé l’importance de cette fête pour toute la communauté et a invité les fidèles à se souvenir, dans leurs prières, de leur prompt intercesseur — saint Jonas.
Après le moleben, tous les paroissiens ont été invités par le groupe de jeunesse orthodoxe de la paroisse à la salle de réception, où ils ont regardé ensemble un film historique et documentaire consacré à l’icône miraculeuse de la Mère de Dieu de Koursk, en se préparant spirituellement à accueillir dans les jours à venir cette grande relique de l’Église Orthodoxe Russe Hors Frontières.
