With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, youth pilgrimage to the holy places of the Balkans will take place from 22nd July – 4th August 2025, led by Hieromonk Theodore.
This year marks the first time that the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe has organised a youth pilgrimage to the Balkans, under the auspices of the Saint Mary Magdalene Youth Group of the London Cathedral. It aims to be an immersive experience of the spiritual life of monasteries in the South Slavic lands that were evangelised by the Seven Saints — those disciples of Saints Kyrill and Methodius who laboured here, enlightened by the life and work of Saint Sava and sanctified by the blood of numerous martyrs, even to the present day.
Pilgrims, over a 14-day programme, will visit a number of the holy sites associated with the saints who have shone forth in these lands, such as Saints Clement and Naum of Ohrid, Saint Sava, Saint Basil of Ostrog, Saint Nikolaj Velimirovich and many others. They will stay at some of the most ancient and revered monasteries, join the monastics for the cycle of divine services, and assist them in their daily obediences. Accompanying clergy will give spiritual talks and be available for confession and spiritual counsel throughout, and expert guides will provide historical information. The pilgrimage is open to all young Orthodox Christians between the ages of 18-35, regardless of their diocese. The cost of the pilgrimage, not including airfare, is £700 in Pounds Sterling, which includes meals and lodging in double accommodation for all 14 days / 13 nights. The principal language will be English, though participant-led translation into Russian will be available for those requiring it. NOTE: While the final two days of the pilgrimage overlap with the beginning of the Diocesan pilgrimage to the Holy Land, accommodation can be made for those wishing to register for both by adjusting departure dates.
TO REGISTER: Please initiate the process by completing the registration form on-line, below. The form, once submitted, will be received by Hieromonk Theodore, the pilgrimage coordinator, who will respond with further details. A deposit of £150 is required to complete your registration; all pilgrims are also required to obtain the blessing of the Priest of the parish of which they are a parishioner; those who complete the on-line application form will be sent a form that the Priest may use to submit his blessing.

По благословению Преосвященного епископа Лондонского и Западно-Европейского Иринея, с 22 июля по 4 августа 2025 года состоится молодежное паломничество по святым местам Балкан, под руководством иеромонаха Феодора.
Впервые Великобританская и Западно-Европейская епархия организует молодежное паломничество на Балканы под эгидой молодежной группы святой Марии Магдалины при Лондонском кафедральном соборе. Оно призвано стать глубоким погружением в духовную жизнь монастырей южнославянских земель, просвещенных трудами Семерых Святых — учеников святых Кирилла и Мефодия, вдохновленных жизнью и подвигами святого Саввы и освященных кровью многочисленных мучеников, даже до наших дней.
В течение 14 дней паломники посетят множество святых мест, связанных с подвижниками, просиявшими на этих землях, среди которых святые Климент и Наум Охридские, святой Савва Сербский, святой Василий Острожский, святой Николай Велимирович и многие другие. Они будут проживать в древнейших и наиболее почитаемых монастырях, участвовать в монашеском богослужебном круге и помогать братии в их послушаниях. Сопровождающие священнослужители будут проводить духовные беседы, а также будут доступны для исповеди и духовного наставления, в то время как опытные экскурсоводы предоставят историческую информацию. Паломничество открыто для всех молодых православных христиан в возрасте от 18 до 35 лет, независимо от их юрисдикции. Стоимость паломничества, не включая перелет, составляет 700 фунтов стерлингов, в которую входят питание и проживание в двухместных номерах на протяжении 14 дней (13 ночей). Основным языком паломничества будет английский, однако для нуждающихся будет доступен перевод на русский язык, осуществляемый участниками. ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ: Хотя последние два дня паломничества совпадают с началом общеепархиального паломничества в Святую Землю, возможно устроить размещение для тех, кто желает принять участие в обоих паломничествах, скорректировав даты отправления.
ДЛЯ РЕГИСТРАЦИИ: Пожалуйста, начните процесс, заполнив онлайн-анкету ниже. После отправки анкета будет получена координатором паломничества, иеромонахом Феодором, который направит Вам дальнейшие инструкции. Для завершения регистрации необходимо внести депозит в размере 150 фунтов стерлингов. Кроме того, каждый паломник должен получить благословение настоятеля прихода, прихожанином которого он является.
