SATURDAY, 15 / 28 SEPTEMBER 2024: On Saturday afternoon, His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe chaired the annual meeting of the Parish Assembly of the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Cross in Geneva, Switzerland.

Calling the meeting to order with prayer, Bishop Irenei welcomed the members of the Cathedral community and offered a brief summary of the previous year. His Grace especially thanked the clergy, parish officers and all the faithful of the Geneva Cathedral for their focus on the spiritual life over the past year. Vladyka noted the continued growth of the Cathedral, which is one of the most active parishes in Europe, highlighting its rich liturgical life and the enormous number of faithful regularly confessing and receiving the Holy Mysteries, its many parish pilgrimages, youth activities, its positive interactions with Genevan society, as well as its strong administration, stable finances, and other practical accomplishments. The Bishop also drew attention to the Cathedral’s choir, ‘which is certainly one of the best to be found in any Orthodox Church in Europe’, and which had sung so beautifully for the Cathedral’s Altar Feast the day before.

Reports were heard from the parish clergy, the parish starosta and treasurer, and others. The parish accounts and audit were approved, and elections were held for the officers of the parish for the coming year.

Following the successful conclusion of the Parish Assembly, Bishop Irenei remains in Geneva for the Divine Services of the weekend.

СУББОТА, 15 / 28 СЕНТЯБРЯ 2024 г.: В субботу днем Преосвященнейший епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней возглавил ежегодное общеприходское собрание Кресто-Воздвиженского собора в Женеве, Швейцария.

Начав собрание общей молитвой, епископ Ириней приветствовал членов соборной общины и кратко подвел итоги прошедшего года. Его Преосвященство особенно поблагодарил духовенство, приходских служителей и всех верных Женевского собора за их внимание к духовной жизни в течение прошедшего года. Владыка отметил продолжающийся рост собора, который является одним из самых активных приходов в Европе, подчеркнув его богатую литургическую жизнь и огромное количество верующих, регулярно исповедующихся и принимающих Святые Таинства, многочисленные приходские паломничества, молодежные мероприятия, положительное взаимодействие с женевским обществом, а также его сильное управление, стабильные финансы и другие практические достижения. Владыка также обратил внимание на хор собора, «который, безусловно, является одним из лучших в любой православной церкви в Европе» и который пел так прекрасно на Престольный праздник собора накануне.

Были заслушаны доклады приходского духовенства, отчеты от старосты и казначея, и других должностных лиц. Были утверждены приходские счета и ревизия, состоялись выборы приходских служащих на будущий год.

После успешного завершения Приходского собрания владыка Ириней остается в Женеве, чтобы возглавить Божественные службы на выходных.

SAMEDI 15 / 28 SEPTEMBRE 2024 : Samedi après-midi, Son excellence Mgr l’évêque Irénée de Londres et d’Europe occidentale a présidé la réunion annuelle de l’Assemblée paroissiale de la cathédrale de l’Exaltation de la Croix à Genève, en Suisse.

Rappelant la réunion à l’ordre par la prière, Mgr Irénée a souhaité la bienvenue aux membres de la communauté de la cathédrale et a offert un bref résumé de l’année précédente. Son Excellence a tout particulièrement remercié le clergé, les responsables paroissiaux et tous les fidèles de la cathédrale de Genève pour leur attention à la vie spirituelle au cours de l’année écoulée. Vladyka a noté la croissance continue de la cathédrale, l’une des paroisses les plus actives d’Europe, en soulignant sa riche vie liturgique et le nombre impressionnant de fidèles confessant régulièrement et recevant les Saints Mystères, ses nombreux pèlerinages paroissiaux, ses activités pour la jeunesse, ses interactions positives avec la société genevoise, ainsi que sa solide administration, ses finances stables et d’autres réalisations pratiques. L’évêque a également attiré l’attention sur le chœur de la cathédrale, « qui est certainement l’un des meilleurs de toute Église orthodoxe en Europe », et qui avait chanté si magnifiquement pour la fête de l’autel de la cathédrale la veille.

Des rapports ont été entendus du clergé paroissial, le marguillier et le trésorier de la paroisse, et d’autres. Les comptes et l’audit de la paroisse ont été approuvés et des élections ont eu lieu pour les officiers de la paroisse pour l’année à venir.

À la suite de la conclusion réussie de l’Assemblée paroissiale, l’évêque Irénée reste à Genève pour présider les offices divins du week-end.
