A Pilgrimage to Sites of St Patrick of Ireland Was Undertaken in the Presence of the Kursk-root icon of the Theotokos. | Паломничество по святыням, связанным со св. Патриком Ирландским, совершено в присутствии Курско-коренной иконы.

THURSDAY 14 / 27 NOVEMBER 2025: As a special part of its visitation to the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe, the wonderworking Kursk-root icon of the Mother of God was taken on Wednesday to Northern Ireland, where a day-pilgrimage was organised by the Belfast Parish of St John the Wonderworker to various sites associated with the local saints of Ireland. The icon was borne to each location throughout the day, where the presence of the Mother of God in her sacred image further blessed the sacred shrines sanctified by the God-pleasing saints who have shone forth on these islands.

The sacred icon was conveyed from the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland by Priest Robert Williams on Wednesday evening, after blessing the mission of St Patrick in Clifden. The icon was received in Belfast by Priest Justin Venn and the faithful of St John’s Parish in Belfast, upon which a moleben and akathist were served before it. Concelebrating together with Father Justin were Priest Robert and Priest Stanislav Markevcev of the Stradbally Parish, where the icon had visited earlier in the week. Some 100 faithful gathered before the beloved treasure of the Church Abroad, including clergy and faithful from the Romanian and Antiochian churches, and other Orthodox jurisdictions present in Belfast. Upon the conclusion of the moleben and well into the night, the icon was taken to the homes of many parishioners, to bless and sanctify their dwellings.

On Thursday the pilgrimage was held. In the regions surrounding Belfast are many sites associated with the life and mission of St Patrick of Ireland, including the saint’s tomb, holy wells associated with his ministry and his baptism of many Pagans, and sites of his monastic and ecclesiastical dwellings. The wonderworking icon accompanied the pilgrims to these sites, and at each prayers were lifted up to the Mother of God, St Patrick, and all the saints of the region.

Following the conclusion of the pilgrimage in the evening, the wonderworking icon was once again taken to bless the homes of the faithful. On Friday morning, it was taken to Liverpool and Wallasey, to begin its visitation to the faithful in the north of England.

ЧЕТВЕРГ, 14 / 27 НОЯБРЯ 2025 г.: В рамках особой части посещения Великобританской и Западно-Европейской Епархии чудотворная Курско-коренная икона Божией Матери была в среду принесена в Северную Ирландию, где приходом святителя Иоанна Шанхайского в Белфасте было организовано однодневное паломничество к различным святыням, связанным с местными ирландскими святыми. На протяжении всего дня святыня сопровождала паломников к каждому месту, и присутствие Пресвятой Богородицы в ее священном образе принесло дополнительное благословение древним святыням, освященным угодниками Божиими, просиявшими на этих островах.

Святая икона была доставлена из Ирландской Республики в Северную Ирландию иереем Робертом Уильямсом в среду вечером, после посещения миссии святого Патрика в Клифдене. В Белфасте икону встретили иерей Иустин Венн и верующие прихода святителя Иоанна; перед святыней были совершены молебен с акафистом. Вместе с отцом Иустином сослужили иерей Роберт и иерей Станислав Маркевцев из Стрэдбалли, где икона пребывала ранее на той же неделе. Около ста верующих собрались перед этой возлюбленной святыней Русской Зарубежной Церкви, среди них — духовенство и миряне Румынской и Антиохийской Церквей, а также других православных юрисдикций, присутствующих в Белфасте. По окончании молебна, продолжавшемся до глубокой ночи, икона была принесена в дома многих прихожан для благословения и освящения их жилищ.

В четверг состоялось паломничество. В окрестностях Белфаста находится множество святынь, связанных с жизнью и миссией святителя Патрика Ирландского, включая его гробницу, святые источники, где совершались им крещения многих язычников, а также места его монашеского и церковного пребывания. Чудотворная икона сопровождала паломников по этим святым местам, и в каждом из них были вознесены молитвы Пресвятой Богородице, святителю Патрику и всем святым края.

По завершении паломничества вечером чудотворная икона вновь была принесена в дома верующих для благословения. В пятницу утром она была перевезена в Ливерпуль и Уолласи, чтобы начать свое посещение верующих на севере Англии.
