16 / 29 JULY 2025: A gathering of Orthodox youth took place from the 19th to the 21st of July 2025 in the picturesque setting of Leysin, Switzerland, at the welcoming chalet of Riant-Val, immediately following the conclusion of the children’s summer camp. With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, more than forty young people from various parishes took part, representing fifteen nationalities — a striking testimony to the truth that in Christ ‘there is neither Greek nor Jew’: it is our shared faith and love for God that unites us.
On the first day, participants arrived in Leysin, became acquainted with one another, and took part in evening prayers, during which many made their confession. The evening concluded with a common meal and fraternal fellowship around a campfire beneath the starry sky.
On Sunday, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated, during which all participants received the Holy Mysteries from a single Chalice. Following the Liturgy, spiritual talks were held with Archpriest Emilian Pochinok, during which the youth were able to pose questions and engage in discussion. The day concluded with a mountain walk and a ride on the funicular railway.
Throughout the weekend, the youth emphasised key spiritual truths:
– ‘True joy comes only from God.’
– ‘Prayer is not merely asking for things, but a living communion with God.’
– ‘Love is action — the readiness to forgive and to help.’
– ‘Youth are not the future, but the present of the Church. You are living witnesses of the Faith.’
Remarking on the conclusion of the youth weekend, Father Emilian noted: ‘We experienced the reality of being one family, united in Christ and nourished from a single Chalice. These are not merely words — this is a lived encounter that brings strength and hope. “Let us live in such a way that, looking at us, others may behold the Light of Christ.”’
16 / 29 ИЮЛЯ 2025 г.: С 19 по 21 июля 2025 года в живописном месте Лейзин, Швейцария, в гостеприимном шале «Риан-Валь», сразу по завершении детского летнего лагеря, состоялась встреча православной молодежи. По благословению Его Преосвященства епископа Лондонского и Западно-Европейского Иринея в ней приняли участие более сорока юношей и девушек из различных приходов, представляя пятнадцать национальностей — что стало ярким свидетельством истины, что «во Христе нет ни эллина, ни иудея»: нас объединяет общая Вера и любовь ко Господу.
В первый день участники прибыли в Лейзин, познакомились друг с другом и совершили вечернюю молитву, во время которой многие исповедались. Вечер завершился общей трапезой и братским общением у костра под звездным небом.
В воскресенье была совершена Божественная литургия, за которой все участники причастились Святых Христовых Таин из одной Чаши. После Литургии состоялись духовные беседы с протоиереем Емильяном Починоком, во время которых молодые люди могли задавать вопросы и вступать в живое обсуждение. День завершился прогулкой в горах и подъемом на фуникулёре.
В течение всего уикенда молодежь особо выделила несколько ключевых духовных истин:
– «Истинная радость приходит только от Бога.»
– «Молитва — это не просто просьба, но живая связь с Богом.»
– «Любовь — это действие: готовность простить и помочь.»
– «Молодежь — не будущее, а настоящее Церкви. Вы — живые свидетели Веры.»
Подводя итоги встречи, отец Емильян отметил: «Мы действительно пережили реальность того, что являемся одной семьей, объединенной во Христе и питающейся от единой Чаши. Это не просто слова — это живая встреча, дарующая силу и надежду. Живите так, чтобы, глядя на вас, люди могли узреть Свет Христов.»
