4 / 17 DÉCEMBRE 2023 : La fête de l’autel de la paroisse Sainte-Barbara la Mégalomartyre, à Vevey en Suisse, a été concélébrée par Son Excellence Mgr Irénée l’évêque de Londres et d’Europe occidentale, et Son Excellence Mgr Alexandre, évêque de Vevey, dans l’église historique qui se trouve situé au pied des Alpes suisses. Aux hiérarques se sont joints le clergé de la paroisse, le prêtre Aviv Saliou-Diallo et le protodiacre Michel Vernaz, ainsi qu’un rassemblement de membres du clergé des régions voisines venus à Vevey à l’occasion de la fête : l’archiprêtre Pavel Tzvetkoff et l’archidiacre Dometien (Redko) de la Cathédrale de Genève, hiéromoine Innokenty de l’Église orthodoxe ukrainienne, l’archimandrite Martin (de Caflisch) du monastère de Dompierre et le prêtre Dimitri Mottier de la paroisse de Sion, du diocèse de Chersonèse.
Après les vigiles pieusement chantées du samedi soir, au cours de laquelle Vladyka Alexandre a été accueilli sous le porche, la Divine Liturgie a combiné la célébration dominicale de la Résurrection avec la mémoire sacrée de la patronne céleste de la paroisse. Vladyka Irénée a été accueilli par le marguiller de la paroisse, Michel Aymon, et a été rejoint par Vladyka Alexandre sur la cathèdre pour le service liturgique.
A la Petite Entrée, Mgr Irénée a décerné au prêtre Aviv Saliou-Diallo le droit de porter la skufia violet, à l’occasion de sa quatrième année de service sacerdotal.
À la fin de la Divine Liturgie, Mgr Alexandre a prononcé une homélie sur la vie de sainte Barbara et son exemple pour tous les chrétiens pieux, qui voient la gloire de Dieu dans sa création et sont attirés par son amour. Une procession avec la Croix a ensuite eu lieu autour de l’église, avec la lecture du Saint Évangile devant le tombeau du toujours mémorable évêque Ambroise de Genève et d’Europe occidentale, qui avait été auparavant évêque de Vevey et dont les fidèles locaux se souviennent particulièrement chaleureusement. Les offices divins se sont terminés par un moleben devant l’icône de Sainte Barbara, qui contient une partie de ses précieuses reliques, qui ont ensuite été vénérées par tous les fidèles rassemblés.
Mgr Irénée a félicité Vladyka Alexandre, le clergé et les fidèles avec la joie de la Résurrection et de la fête patronale, et a exprimé sa joie de partager le bonheur de la « deuxième Pâques » de la paroisse. S’ensuivit un banquet dans la salle située sous l’église, au cours duquel les évêques, le clergé et les paroissiens restèrent de nombreuses heures, communiquant dans la joie de la fête.

4 / 17 ДЕКАБРЯ 2023 г.: Торжества по случаю престольного праздника прихода святой великомученицы Варвары в Веве, в историческом храме, который находится у подножия Швейцарских Альп, возглавили Преосвященнейший епископ Лондонский и Западно-Европейский Ириней и Преосвященнейший епископ Вевейский Александр. К архиереям присоединилось местное духовенство: иерей Авив Салиу-Диалло и протодиакон Мишель Верна, а также клирики из близлежащих регионов, прибывшие в вевейский храм по случаю праздника: протоиерей Павел Цветков и архидиакон Дометиан (Редко) из женевского кафедрального собора; иеромонах Иннокентий с Украинской Православной Церкви; архимандрит Мартин (де Кальфиш) и священник Димитрий из монастыря Домпьер, Корсунской епархии.
После праздничного бдения в субботу вечером, на котором владыку Александра встретили на ступенях храма, Божественная литургия соединила празднование воскресного дня со священной памятью небесной покровительницы прихода. Владыку Иринея на паперти церкви встретил староста Михаил Аймон, а на кафедре к началу Литургии к Правящему Архиерею присоединился викарный епископ Александр.
В связи с четвертым годом безукоризненного священнического служения на Малом входе местный клирик иерей Авив Салиу-Диалло был награжден правом ношения цветной скуфьи.
По завершении Божественной литургии Преосвященный епископ Александр произнес проповедь о жизни святой Варвары и ее примере для всех благочестивых христиан, которые видят славу Божию в Его творении и тянутся к Его любви. Затем вокруг храма был совершен крестный ход с чтением Святого Евангелия перед гробом приснопамятного епископа Женевского и Западно-Европейского Амвросия, который ранее был епископом Вевейским и особенно тепло вспоминается местными верующими. Богослужение завершилось молебном перед иконой святой великомученицы Варвары, хранящей частицу ее драгоценных мощей, которую затем облобызали все верующие.
Епископ Ириней поздравил владыку Александра, духовенство и верующих с торжествами воскресного дня и престольного праздника, а также выразил радость от разделения литургической молитвы по случаю приходской «второй Пасхи». 4 / 17 DECEMBER 2023: The Altar Feast of the Parish of St Barbara the Great-Martyr in Vevey, Switzerland, was concelebrated by His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe and His Grace Bishop Alexander of Vevey, in the historic church that sits at the feet of the Swiss Alps. Joining the Hierarchs were the local clergy, Priest Aviv Saliou-Diallo and Protodeacon Michel Vernaz, together with a gathering of clergy from nearby regions who came to the Vevey temple for the occasion of Feast: Archpriest Pavel Tzvetkoff and Archdeacon Dometian (Redko) of the Geneva Cathedral, Hieromonk Innokenty of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and Archimandrite Martin (de Calfish) and Priest Dimitri of the Monastery of Dompierre, of the Korsun Diocese.
Following the piously-sung Vigil of the Feast on Saturday evening, at which Vladyka Alexander was met at the porch, the Divine Liturgy combined the Sunday celebration of the Resurrection with the sacred memory of the Parish’s heavenly patroness. Vladyka Irenei was met by the starosta of the parish, Michael Aymon, and was joined by Vladyka Alexander on the cathedra for the liturgical service.
At the Little Entrance, the local Priest Aviv Saliou-Diallo was awarded the right to wear the Purple Skufia, in light of the fourth year of his priestly service.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Alexander delivered a homily on the life of St Barbara and her example for all pious Christians, who behold the glory of God in His creation and are drawn to His love. A Cross procession was then made around the temple, with the Holy Gospel read before the tomb of the ever-memorable Bishop Ambrose of Geneva and Western Europe, who had previously been Bishop of Vevey and is especially warmly remembered by the local faithful. The Divine Services were concluded with a moleben before the icon of St Barbara, which contains a portion of her precious relics, which were then venerated by all the gathered faithful.
Bishop Irenei congratulated Vladyka Alexander, the clergy and the faithful with the joy of the Resurrection and of the patronal feastday, and expressed his joy in sharing the happiness of the parish’s ‘second Pascha’. A banquet then followed in the hall beneath the Church, at which the bishops, clergy and parishioners remained for many hours, communicating in the joy of the feast.
