Fifth Pan-European Church Musicians’ Conference Concludes in London. | В Лондоне завершилась Пятая Общеевропейская церковно-певческая конференция.

SUNDAY 15 / 28 JANUARY 2024: The fifth annual Church Musicians’ Conference, organised by the All-European Church Music Committee of the Church Abroad, successfully concluded its work with the singing of the Divine Services at the London Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs.

The conference, which this year was on the theme ‘Beauty in Divine Services: The Practice of Choral Singing’, celebrating the anniversaries of A.A. Arkhangelsky and A.V. Nikolsky, was held from 25th - 28th January, during which time a large number of participants from across Europe were educated by lectures on notable historical and practical topics, as well as through ‘hands-on’ workshops on liturgical singing, conducting, the Obikhod and services cycles of the Church, and many other aspects of her musical life.

As has been the custom at each of the annual conferences, the labours of the participants culminated in the singing of the All-night Vigil and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the weekend in the Diocesan Cathedral. More than 50 voices were amassed into the choirs for the services, which provided many participants also with the opportunity to conduct and put into immediate practice the skills honed during the conference.

ВОСКРЕСЕНЬЕ 15 / 28 ЯНВАРЯ 2024 г.: Пятая ежегодная конференция церковных регентов и певчих, организованная Общеевропейским церковно-певческим комитетом Зарубежной Церкви, успешно завершила свою работу пением архиерейских богослужений в лондонском кафедральном соборе Рождества Богородицы и святых Царственных мучеников.

Конференция, главной темой которой в этом году стала «Красота в богослужении: практика хорового пения», посвященная юбилеям А.А. Архангельского и А.В. Никольского, проходила с 25 по 28 января. В течение дней работы мероприятия большое количество участников со всей Европы прошли обучение на лекциях по важным историческим и практическим темам, а также на практических семинарах по богослужебному пению, дирижированию, изучению Обихода, и богослужебных церковных циклов, и многих других литургическо-певческих аспектов.

Как и положено, на каждой из ежегодных конференций, труды участников завершались совместным пением в кафедральном соборе Всенощного бдения и Архиерейской Божественной литургии в выходные дни. На богослужениях в хорах было собрано более 50 голосов, что дало многим участникам возможность дирижировать и немедленно применить на практике навыки, отточенные во время конференции.
