THURSDAY, 1 / 14 NOVEMBER 2024: The arrival of the myrrh-streaming ‘Hawaiian’-Iveron icon into Norwich was met with especial joy by the clergy and faithful of the St Alexander Parish. Not only did the occasion mark the opportunity to venerate the precious wonderworking image of the Theotokos, but it also marked an anniversary of deep meaning for the parish Priest, the Reverend Spasimir Ivanov, who, seven years ago in 2017, was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in the presence of this same icon.
The Hawaiian icon arrived in Norwich on Thursday evening, having earlier in the day visited Walsingham and Mettingham. In order to express their special veneration for this image of the Mother of God, the clergy and faithful in Norwich arranged to serve the moleben and akafist before it, followed immediately by the All-Night Vigil and midnight service of the Divine Liturgy. The Divine services were headed by Priest Spasimir Ivanov, together with Archpriest Paul Elliott, Hieromonk Theodore, as well as Archpriest Sergei Pavlov of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and Archpriest Vladimir Dyachenko of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
After the Divine Services, an envelope filled with names for commemoration before the mother of God and placed beneath the holy icon, was found completely soaked through with myrrh that had flowed forth during the prayers. Fr Spasimir noted, ‘Glory to God and his mother for allowing us to be part of such wondrous miracle.’
On Friday morning the icon departed Norwich for Cambridge, and then onward to London.

Этот знаменательный день стал возможностью поклониться драгоценному чудотворному образу Богородицы, а также напоминанием о значимой годовщине для настоятеля прихода, иерея Спасимира Иванова, который ровно семь лет назад, 2017 года, был рукоположен в священство в присутствии этой же иконы.
Икона была доставлена в Норидж в четверг вечером после посещения Уолсингема и Меттингема. В знак особого почитания духовенство и прихожане Нориджа организовали молебен с акафистом перед иконой, за которым последовали Всенощное бдение и ночная Литургия. Богослужения возглавил иерей Спасимир Иванов в сослужении протоиерея Павла Эллиотта, иеромонаха Феодора, а также протоиерея Сергия Павлова из Болгарской Православной Церкви и протоиерея Владимира Дьяченко из Украинской Православной Церкви.
После Богослужений конверт с записками о здравии и упокоении, помещенный под святую икону, был найден полностью пропитанным миром, истекшим во время молитв. Отец Спасимир отметил: «Слава Богу и Его Матери за то, что нам дано стать участниками такого удивительного чуда!»
В пятницу утром икона отправилась в Кембридж, а затем — в Лондон.
