MONDAY 29 OCTOBER / 11 NOVEMBER 2024: Following ten days of visits to parishes on the Continent, the miraculous ‘Hawaiian’-Iveron icon of the Mother of God arrived into the British Isles via Manchester Airport on Monday morning, conveyed to the north of England by its keeper, the Reverend Priest Nectary Yangson of the Hawaii Parish. The holy icon was greeted at the airport by the Chancellor of the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe, the Very Reverend Paul Elliott, who remarked on the joy felt by himself and all the clergy in the UK and Ireland, as the icon returned after a span of seven years since its previous visit.

In the evening, a moleben and akafist were served in St Elisabeth Parish in Wallasey, before the icon which flowed abundantly with holy myrrh throughout the service. The rite was headed by Archpriest Paul Elliott, together with Archpriest Vyacheslav Lyahovsky, Priest Justin Venn, and various clergy from other parishes and dioceses who joined the parish for the occasion. The church was filled to capacity, and beyond, with worshippers who came to venerate the Mother of God — including crowds that extended well into the environs outdoors.

On Tuesday morning, the icon was present in the St Elisabeth Parish for the Divine Liturgy, after which it will be taken to the Serbian Orthodox Parish in Birmingham in the afternoon, and in the evening to the diocesan parish in Cardiff, Wales.

ПОНЕДЕЛЬНИК, 29 ОКТЯБРЯ / 11 НОЯБРЯ 2024 г.: По окончании десятидневного паломничества по приходам на континенте, чудотворная Гавайская Иверская икона Божией Матери прибыла на Британские острова через Манчестерский аэропорт в понедельник утром, доставленная настоятелем Гавайского прихода, иереем Нектарием Янгсоном. Святыня была встречена в аэропорту канцлером Великобританской и Западно-Европейской епархии, протоиереем Павлом Эллиоттом, который отметил радость, испытанную им и всем духовенством в Великобритании и Ирландии по случаю возвращения иконы спустя семь лет после предыдущего визита.

Вечером в приходе святой Елизаветы в Уолласи перед иконой, изобильно источавшей миро на протяжении всей богослужения, был отслужен молебен с акафистом. Чинопоследование возглавил протоиерей Павел Эллиотт в сослужении с протоиереем Вячеславом Ляховским, иереем Июстином Венном, а также духовенством из других приходов и епархий, которые присоединились к приходу для участия в торжестве. Храм был полон до отказа, и многие верующие стояли на улице, чтобы поклониться Божией Матери.

Во вторник утром икона была принесена на Божественную литургию в приходе святой Елизаветы, после которой ее доставят в Сербский православный приход в Бирмингеме, а вечером в кафедральный приход епархии в Кардиффе, Уэльс.
