3 / 16 JUNE 2023: This week the London Cathedral’s Food Bank achieved a milestone in its labours: the 1,000th box of food was distributed by its workers to those in need.

The Food Bank provides free boxes of food — each of which is sufficient to aid a whole family for a full week — to those in need. The vast majority of the recipients are Ukrainian refugees, in need on account of the terrible war in their homeland; but there are also many other recipients finding themselves in need on account of the current cost-of-living crisis and other causes.

Commenting on this milestone, the Food Bank organiser, Simon Tingley, noted: ‘Our minds cannot comprehend how much food has been given away since we started, and how God has blessed this work, going from strength to strength, helping many needy families at such a difficult time. We give glory to God!’
