САН-РЕМО, ИТАЛИЯ, 30 ИЮЛЯ / 12 АВГУСТА 2024 г.: Реставрационные работы, начатые в июле прошлого года на западном фасаде и колокольне исторического храма в Сан-Ремо, Италия, были завершены. Более чем через столетие после строительства храма, которое было начато указом св. мученика Николая II в 1912 году, многие декоративные элементы его фасадов были повреждены и утрачены; а колокольня, поврежденная во время Второй мировой войны, также требовала срочной реставрации. Предложенный проект этой реставрации вместе с установкой мозаик был одобрен надзорным органом архитектурного наследия региона в Генуе, и работы начались чуть больше года назад.

Крест колокольни позолочен сусальным золотом, также как и другие 5 крестов на куполе. Полностью обновлено керамическое покрытие шатра колокольни в зеленом, желтом и красном цветах.

Верхнюю часть фасада теперь украшает мозаика с преподобным Серафимом Саровским, кормящим медведя. Мозаика выполнена римской студией Кассио под руководством Ульяны Медиковой по эскизу московского иконографа Сергея Куракина.

Радуясь этому важному этапу в долгосрочных реставрационных работах, приход Сан-Ремо молится о том, чтобы в свое время удалось провести реставрацию оставшихся фасадов храма и монтаж других мозаик.

SANREMO, ITALY, 30 JULY / 12 AUGUST 2024: Restoration works begun last July on the western façade and bell tower of the historic temple in Sanremo, Italy, has been completed. More than a century after the construction of the church, which was begun by a decree of St Nicholas II in 1912, many decorative elements of its façades have been damaged and lost; and the bell tower, damaged during the Second World War, also required urgent restoration. The proposed project for this restoration, together with the installation of mosaics long-intended for the niches in the western façade, was approved by the architectural heritage supervisory authority of the Parish’s region in Genoa, and work begun just over a year ago.

The new Cross over the bell tower is gilded with gold leaf, as are the other five Crosses on the principal domes. The ceramic decoration of the tower’s unique covering, in green, yellow and red, has been completely renewed.

The upper part of the façade is now —at long last — decorated with a beautiful mosaic of St Seraphim of Sarov feeding a bear. The mosaic was made by the Roman studio Cassio, under the direction of Ulyana Medikova, based on a sketch by the Moscow iconographer Sergei Kurakin.

Rejoicing at this milestone in its longer-term restoration works, the Sanremo Parish prays that it will be able to carry out the restoration of the remaining façades of the temple and the installation of other mosaics in due course.
