Another academic year of the ROCOR European Church Music School has come to a close.

Une nouvelle année de formation s’est achevée aujourd’hui à l’École européenne de musique liturgique de l’Église russe hors frontières.

18 / 31 JULY 2026: Another academic year of the ROCOR European Church Music School has come to a close.
As is customary, classes were held daily over a two-week period at the Church of the Holy Great-Martyr Panteleimon in Cologne, Germany. Participants in the School’s principal three-year programme for choir directors, singers and readers completed more than 100 hours of instruction across ten subjects during this session and took part in ten Divine Services. Third-year students prepared their final diploma projects, studied the fundamentals of choral conducting and learned practical methods of working with a choir on liturgical repertoire. As their final examination, the graduating students conducted musical works of their own choosing. A further requirement for successful completion of the course was to direct the student choir during the Divine Services.
Although the number of students enrolled this year was smaller than in previous intakes, instruction proceeded at an intensive pace, allowing for an almost individual approach to be undertaken with each participant. A warm and fraternal atmosphere prevailed throughout the School, with the more experienced students gladly assisting those who were just beginning their studies.
The students noted the substantial range of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during the course. Their participation in the Divine Services enabled them to gain first-hand experience of the differences in the liturgical order of the services and to develop practical experience in directing a choir.
The Divine Services on 25 and 26 July were headed by His Grace Bishop Job of Stuttgart, Vicar of the German Diocese. Following the Sunday Divine Liturgy, Bishop Job delivered a lecture and answered the students’ many questions.

Занятія, какъ обычно, проходили ежедневно въ теченіе двухъ недѣль на территоріи храма святаго великомученика Пантелеимона въ Кёльнѣ (Германія). Участники основной трёхгодичной программы для регентовъ, пѣвчихъ и чтецовъ освоили за этотъ періодъ болѣе 100 часовъ учебной нагрузки по десяти предметамъ и приняли участіе въ 10 богослуженіяхъ. Студенты 3-го курса подготовили дипломныя работы, освоили основы дирижированія и работы съ хоромъ надъ произведеніемъ. Въ качествѣ заключительнаго дипломнаго проекта выпускники дирижировали избранными ими произведеніями. Ещё однимъ требованіемъ для успѣшнаго завершенія курса было проведеніе богослуженій со студенческимъ хоромъ.
Несмотря на меньшее количество обучающихся въ семъ году по сравненію съ предыдущими наборами, занятія прошли въ интенсивномъ режимѣ съ почти индивидуальнымъ подходомъ къ каждому студенту. Въ коллективѣ царила дружная атмосфера, болѣе опытные студенты съ радостью помогали начинающимъ.
Учащіеся отмѣчали большое количество теоретическихъ и практическихъ навыковъ, пріобрѣтённыхъ за время обученія. Возможность участія въ богослуженіяхъ позволила студентамъ ощутить на практикѣ различіе въ уставѣ службъ, а также потренироваться въ управленіи хоромъ.
Богослуженія 25 и 26 іюля возглавилъ Его Преосвященство епископъ Штутгардтскій Іовъ, викарій Германской епархіи. Послѣ воскресной Божественной литургіи владыка Іовъ прочёлъ докладъ и отвѣтилъ на многочисленные вопросы студентовъ.

Службы 25 и 26 июля возглавил епископ Штутгардтский Иов, викарий Германской епархии. После воскресной Литургии владыка Иов прочёл доклад и ответил на многочисленные вопросы студентов.

Comme de coutume, les cours se sont déroulés quotidiennement pendant deux semaines dans les locaux de l’église du saint grand-martyr Pantéléimon à Cologne (Allemagne). Les participants au programme principal de trois ans destiné aux chefs de chœur, chantres et lecteurs ont suivi, au cours de cette session, plus de cent heures d’enseignement réparties sur dix disciplines et ont pris part à dix offices divins. Les étudiants de troisième année ont préparé leurs travaux de fin d’études, acquis les bases de la direction chorale et du travail d’interprétation avec un chœur. Comme projet final de diplôme, les diplômés ont dirigé des œuvres choisies par eux-mêmes. Une autre condition requise pour l’achèvement de la formation consistait à assurer la direction du chœur des étudiants au cours des offices divins.
Malgré un effectif moins nombreux cette année que lors des promotions précédentes, l’enseignement s’est déroulé à un rythme soutenu, avec une approche presque individualisée pour chaque étudiant. Une atmosphère fraternelle et chaleureuse régnait au sein du groupe, les étudiants les plus expérimentés apportant volontiers leur aide aux débutants.
Les étudiants ont souligné l’importance des connaissances théoriques et des compétences pratiques acquises au cours de leur formation. Leur participation aux offices divins leur a permis de découvrir concrètement les particularités du Typikon des différents offices et de s’exercer à la direction d’un chœur.
Les offices des 25 et 26 juillet ont été présidés par Son Excellence l’évêque Job de Stuttgart, évêque vicaire du diocèse d’Allemagne. À l’issue de la Divine Liturgie dominicale, Monseigneur Job a présenté une conférence et répondu aux nombreuses questions des étudiants.
