MONDAY 15 / 28 AUGUST 2024: The Great Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos was marked in London with the solemn Hierarchical Divine Services. On the eve of the Feast, the special rite of the Burial of the Mother of God was kept during the matins of the All-Night Vigil, during which the special burial shroud of the Theotokos was brought into the temple during the singing of particularly beautiful hymns, and three stases of profound funeral lamentations were sung before it by the Bishop, Cathedral clergy and choir. Then, at the Great Doxology, a solemn funeral procession was held, with the shroud borne aloft by the clergy and all the faithful circling the Cathedral in the nighttime darkness, before concluding the service with the veneration of the shroud and anointing with blessed oil.

ПОНЕДЕЛЬНИК, 15 / 28 АВГУСТА 2024 г.: Великий Праздник Успения Пресвятой Богородицы был отмечен в Лондоне торжественными архиерейскими Богослужениями. Накануне праздника, во время утрени Всенощного бдения, был совершен особый чин погребения Божией Матери, во время которого в храм была внесена плащаница Богородицы под пение особенно красивых гимнов, и перед ней были исполнены три статии глубокомысленных погребальных плачей архиереем, духовенством и хором. Затем был совершен крестный ход с плащаницей, и все верные в ночной темноте обошли вокруг собора, после чего служба завершилась поклонением плащанице и помазанием освященным елеем.
