21 NOVEMBER / 4 DECEMBER 2025: On the Feast of the Entry of the Theotokos into the Temple, the wonderworking Kursk-root icon of the Mother of God followed in the footsteps of its prototype, and entered anew into a temple dedicated to her honour: the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs in London.

Arriving into London from Oxford for the concluding period of its visitation of the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe, the icon was received by the clergy of the Cathedral: Archpriest Vitaly Serapinas, Archpriest Yaroslav Hudymenko, Hieromonk Theodore, Deacon Andrei Borisas and Deacon Sergei Baranov. Enshrined amidst beautiful flowers, the icon was present in the Cathedral throughout the festal All-night Vigil on Wednesday evening, and again on Thursday morning for the Liturgy of the Feast.

The faithful of London have patiently been awaiting the arrival of the sacred icon, observing from a distance its travels throughout the Diocese over the past weeks. With especial reverence they at last greeted it in person, and rejoiced that they were able to mark the Feast of the Theotokos in the presence of her chief icon.

Over the coming days, the Kursk-root icon will continue to be present in London, visiting the homes of many faithful, as well as being venerated by all in the Divine Services of the Cathedral and elsewhere in the capital.

21 НОЯБРЯ / 4 ДЕКАБРЯ 2025 г.: В праздник Введения во храм Пресвятой Богородицы чудотворная Курско-коренная икона Божией Матери последовала по стопам своего первообраза и вновь вошла в храм, посвященный в ее честь: Кафедральный собор Рождества Божией Матери и святых Царственных Мучеников в Лондоне.

Прибыв в Лондон из Оксфорда для заключительного этапа своего посещения Великобританской и Западно-Европейской епархии, икона была встречена клиром собора: протоиереем Виталием Серапинасом, протоиереем Ярославом Гудыменко, иеромонахом Феодором, диаконом Андреем Борисасом и диаконом Сергием Барановым. Возложенная среди прекрасных цветов, икона пребывала в соборе во время праздничного Всенощного бдения в среду вечером и вновь в четверг утром — на Литургии праздника.

Верующие Лондона с терпением ожидали прибытия святыни, наблюдая издали ее путешествие по епархии в течение последних недель. С особым благоговением они наконец встретили ее лично и возрадовались, что смогли отметить праздник Богородицы в присутствии ее главной иконы.

В ближайшие дни Курско-коренная икона продолжит пребывание в Лондоне, посещая дома многих верующих, а также пребывая для поклонения на богослужениях собора и в других святынях столицы.
