6 JULY 2024: The Sisterhood of St Xenia, of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs in London, organised a one-day pilgrimage to some of the nearby holy sites in England. During the day of their outing, the sisters were blessed to venerate the holy relics of the Holy Apostle Jude in Faversham, St Mildred in Minster, and St Augustine of Canterbury, St Gregory the Dialogist and St Dunstan at St Augustine’s Abbey.

The pilgrims also visited Provender House: the residence of the descendants of Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II and his August Family — including the direct descendants of Princess Xenia, at whose initiative the Sisterhood was founded. After a tour of the magnificent house, situated in the beautiful English countryside and steeped in history and tradition (including many items directly relating to the lives of the Holy Royal Martyrs, such as the Decree of Accession of the Tsar-Martyr), the sisters visited the graves of members of the family, where a litia for the reposed was served.

The pilgrim-sisters were guided in their prayer throughout the day by Archpriest Yaroslav Hudymenko, the chaplain to the Sisterhood; and were treated to historical information on the sites of their visit from Subdeacon Nicolas Mabin and Reader John Harwood, together with his wife Maria.

The blessed day successfully concluded with a short visit to the seaside in Ramsgate.
