The Diocese publishes prayers for mothers during pregnancy, labour and after childbirth.

4 / 17 AUGUST 2026: At the instruction of His Grace Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, the Diocese is pleased to make available a collection of prayers for the benefit of mothers during their pregnancies. Available on a dedicated page of the Diocesan web site from today, prayers are available (currently in English; Church Slavonic and French translations are forthcoming) to be of aid and comfort to mothers during the various stages of child-bearing:

  • A short prayer during pregnancy that mothers can pray at any time
  • Four fuller prayers to be read by mothers during their pregnancy, for inclusion in a daily prayer rule or prayed on their own
  • A prayer to be read over the mother during her active labour
  • Prayers read by the Priest upon the delivery of a child.

These prayers can be accessed at this link, as well as any time via the link on the 'Personal Prayers' section of the Diocesan web site.

По благословенію Его Преосвященства епископа Лондонскаго и Западно-Европейскаго Иринея, епархія съ радостію предлагаетъ собраніе молитвъ для пользы матерей во время беременности. Съ нынѣшняго дня на особой страницѣ епархіальнаго сайта доступны молитвы (пока на англійскомъ языкѣ; переводы на церковнославянскій и французскій языки послѣдуютъ), призванныя быть помощью и утѣшеніемъ матерямъ въ различныя времена беременности и деторожденія:

  • краткая молитва во время беременности, которую мать можетъ читать во всякое время;
  • четыре болѣе пространныя молитвы, читаемыя матерью во время беременности — для включенія въ ежедневное молитвенное правило либо для отдѣльнаго чтенія;
  • молитва, читаемая надъ матерью во время активнаго періода родовъ;
  • молитвы, читаемыя священникомъ по разрѣшеніи матери отъ бремени.
